Biography

Hello, I am Olga and I am brave to live.

I was born and raised in Crimea, Ukraine. Growing up in the “third world country” significantly shaped my personality. I had to learn to adapt to ever changing situations and to have hope for the better future despite any difficulties my family had to struggle with. I have learnt to appreciate little and have developed gratitude that I’ve been carrying through my life.
Living by the Black Sea and mountains, close to nature, evoked my wild self to explore. I have always wanted to explore depths, heights, and every opportunity life has ever gifted me with.
I received my Masters of Psychology in Taurida National University in Simferopol, Crimea, Ukraine in 2009, and the same year that I became a mother. Since then I started thinking of what kind of life I wanted to live. I knew for sure that I wanted it to be meaningful and adventurous. I wanted to feel  challenged to be able to grow as a person and a professional, a life I could live to my fullest potential. I am a strong believer that if you don’t challenge yourself, life will find the way to do it to you. I have always wanted to feel control over my life and therefore have always set big goals and plans for myself.
I moved to Winnipeg, Canada in 2014 shortly after Crimea was annexed and have lived here since. I received a Diploma in Child and Youth Care through Red River College in 2016 and immersed myself into social services and mental health field. In my fifteen years career I have worked in different capacities providing therapeutic services to children, youth, adults and families. I have been helping my clients to make sense of their experiences and to find a way to carry on with purpose.
Being an immigrant and travelling a lot has helped me to have a broader perspective on things. One of my biggest beliefs is that humans are way stronger than they think they are. I have always brought this belief to my practice to help people feel more confident and empowered.
I specialize in working with trauma and addictions. I have received professional training in traditional school of Psychology; yet, I have always been fascinated in alternative modalities and has implemented them in my practice. I practice an eclectic approach and utilize different therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Family System’s theory, Narrative therapy, Nature therapy, Psychodrama, Art-therapy and Logotherapy.
I am a Clinical Director, Mental Health Clinician, certified Psychotherapist, Instructor, training developer and facilitator, influential speaker, community leader, and innovator. I welcome you to my world of courage. Let’s walk this journey together!
